It’s been a blink of an eye, and again, we are almost in the wonderful Ibiza spring and already thinking in the upcoming Ibiza summer season 2014. Therefore we will now show you some of the most important events that everyone is waiting for so impatiently.
Let’s start in the town of San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany), which during the past few years and very successfully its been finding its spot as the Pitiusan gastronomic capital promoting several gastronomic events and initiatives, such as the “Pintxa” in March, tapas bar route offering a variety of different “pinchos” and tapas. And “Restaura’t“. And as well the “Primavera Gastronómica” (gastronomic spring), event which takes place for a month and a half starting in late April. The key factor is that the restaurants within this event offer its diners a special menu using only springtime Ibiza local products and ingredients. A full menu at an affordable price.
Another major event that every year is celebrated in Ibiza with the coming of the good weather and the Holy Week is the legendary regatta “La Ruta de la Sal“. A race where annually more than 2,000 competitors and 300 boats participate, in a route from mainland Spain to the island of Ibiza. Quality regatta feasible by distances and times, but including all the features that a high seas competition require. Many interesting activities and events are organized for the arrival of the boats to Ibiza.
Another major event that is having each time more followers and visitors is the “Feria Medieval” (Medieval Fair) taking place in Dalt Vila, the historic part of Ibiza town. This year is forecasted to take place on the second weekend of May, from 9 to 11 of May. During those days there are many different activities and events related to the medieval times in Ibiza. Furthermore, Dalt Vila is transformed into a medieval market with street vendors, nobles, fakirs, snake charmers, jugglers, craft markets, puppets, clowns, knights, princes and princesses, dragons and falconry, and a great variety of local foods…
And something we can’t forget during the last days of May and early June, are the famous Opening Parties of the big clubs in Ibiza. Ushuaïa (Saturday 24th of May), Pacha, Amnesia (Saturday 31st of May), Space (Sunday 25th of May), Privilege… A must for lovers of the best music and the most amazing parties in the world.
Another of the most important events on the island of Ibiza is, undoubtedly, the Adlib Fashion Show, which this year will be held in the town of Santa Eulalia (Santa Eularia des Riu) on the 7th of June. Adlib is the cornerstone of authentic Ibiza style fashion. The main feature of Adlib fashion is the colour white and the use of natural and lightweight fabrics, embroidery, crochet, ruffles and traditional lace. These garments really flow with the natural movement of the body.
And to finish, we change topics and we present you one of the most important and most successful events celebrated on the island of Ibiza during the summer months, Ibiza Rocks. Another year you can enjoy in San Antonio live concerts of the best bands on the international scene. Already its ninth consecutive year making live music lovers really enjoy.
