The Natural Park of Ses Salines

As we already mentioned, Ses Salines is a protected Natural Park due to its valuable landscape area and also because it is home to a wide range of wildlife and vegetation which finds here the necessary conditions for life. In this area you can enjoy a dip at the beaches of Es Cavallet and Ses Salines, both considerably large, which is a great advantage for finding a spot where to lay down your towel over its smooth sand. Bathing in the waters of the area is a delight, and is also ideal for children, as these beaches have shallow and clean waters. The rest of the Natural Park is also great to get carried away by the charm of the Mediterranean landscape, with pines and juniper forests, cliffs such as Es Cap des Falcó and salt pans that even today are still used to produce salt and which history you can learn about at the Interpretation Center of the Natural Park of Ses Salines, located in the church of Sant Francesc.

What To Do

Looking for some action among such a relaxed atmosphere? The beach of Ses Salines also has room for adventure and of course the sea is the protagonist. Salinas Sailing Club gives you the opportunity to sail the Ibizan Mediterranean sea aboard a catamaran, paddling with a kayak or letting the wind carry you on a windsurf board. They also organize tours to discover the island’s coast. One of the most attractive tours is the Paddle Surf excursion under the full moon. Sounds good, right?

And if you want to put a perfect finishing touch on your visit to Ses Salines, going for a little walk to the southernmost tip of the island is a must, where you’ll find the imposing defense tower of Ses Portes. This is a beautiful walk, as you’ll go through the most isolated enclaves of this beach’s coast, with a few scattered fishermen huts and privileged views to Formentera.
